FAQThis is a featured page

What is TRK? It sounds like some type of disease.
TRK is The Rope Knot. It's kind of like the 'Dear Editor' Column. Members send in their suggestions, comments, questions, etc. in to TRK as a normal submission. The editor and the Moderators give their feedback on most things. TRK is in the issues of SARI and always toward the end, if not the very last page.

How can I get someone to write/illustrate a story for me?
Go to the Available Authors/Illustrators page. Illustrators' samples of work are on the pages below it. When you find someone you like, send them a message. From there it is up to y'all.

Can my poems be illustrated?
Sure.

Can I submit over the website? I don't want to give out my email.
No, you may not. Sorry.

Can I submit songs I wrote to SARI?
It would be better if you didn't, because there isn't a tune that readers can hum along with. So...sorry.

I sculpted something. Can I submit it?
Sure, as long as you take very good, clear detail shots and a shot of the sculpture itself.

How can I become a Moderator?
Wait until the Moderator Audition opens back up. Meanwhile, you have to work for it to earn it. If you never do anything on the site, I'm not going to pick you. Just forewarning you.

How can I become a Columnist?
Wait for the Columnist Audition.

My internet won't let me update/edit any pages or post threads. Help?
Sometimes Internet Explorer messes up on Wetpaint, so I would recommend downloading Mozilla Firefox, which is what I use. Having one of the latest versions of Windows (or Macs) helps.

I submitted to the magazine freely, without assignments, and didn't see some/any of my work in the issue. What's up?
Like any magazine, I thoroughly inspect all the submissions to make sure they are SARI material. Most things go in, but if I think the members will not be too interested in it for the most part, then I won't put it in. Also, I won't put emails in - forwards and such. Stuff like that.

Can you notify me when the issues are released?
Um...no. The Mods and I have enough to do. You have to check for yourself.

If I win a contest, will you tell me before the issue is released?
No...

I have a suggestion for SARI.
TRK.

I have a friend who may join. Can I tell him about it?
Sure. Let me or an Admin know first.

What is AOC? Some type of bone?
AOC (Area of Creativity) is a commonly-used term on SARI. Your AOC is where your creativity is expressed - AKA, my AOC is mainly writing. You can have more than one, of course. So if someone asked me, 'Squid, what is your AOC?' I would reply, 'Writing, art, and photography.'

I find the Bible references, Prayer Requests page, and all that stuff offensive. Could you take it off?
You are way out of luck there, hon. Sorry. It ain't going nowhere.

A member sent me a message that I think you should know about. What do I do?
Send the message to either one of the Admins (Brenna or Liz) or me. We will take care of it, and thank you for letting us know.

I have found some stuff that was updated a little later than it should have been, or not updated at all. What is happening?
Someone will update it soon. We're all busy taking care of other SARI business and the members.

The youngest age for joining is 13, right?
Yes.

I turn 13 within 30 days. Can I join?
Only if it is within 30 days.

What about 31 days, or 40 days?
No, 30. That's final.

Can I join just to see the issues if I meet the age limit qualifications?
No. If you join, you have to contribute.

Why do you always use the same font to write on pages?
I like it best.

What exactly is the copyright situation for stuff I submit to SARI? If I submit something, can I take it and submit it somewhere else later, or does the stuff I send in belong to you guys forever?
When you submit, it still belongs to you. I'm just putting it in the issues. You can submit it to other places. It, by no means, belongs to SARI. Also, when you submit, that does not count for when you send query letters to publishing houses, because this is not a considered-'real' magazine. (So in a query letter you cannot say, 'My work has been published in SARI magazine.' Just thought I would clear that up.)
HOWEVER, because of the strict copyright posted on the homepage and on the Welcome to SARI page, people are free to read your stuff, but if they want to use it or any part of it, they have to have WRITTEN permission from you.

What is a SARIEE?
A SARI Editor Episode.

What's that?
A video of me (Syd) talking about the latest stuff with SARI. I have bad posture - a forewarning.
